Futurist Zey Maps His Vision for US Economic Revival March 20 on KGAB

MORRISTOWN, NJ, March 19, 2002(Expansionary News Service) On March 20, 2002, 9:35 AM EST Internationally-acclaimed sociologist/futurist Dr. Michael G. Zey, author of “The Future Factor: The Five Forces Transforming Our Lives and Shaping Human Destiny” (McGraw-Hill), will make his second appearance in two months on KGAB-AM’s "The Morning Zone" with David Chaffin.

Dr. Zey will describe his bold new vision for reviving the United States economy.

According to Dr. Zey, the stimulus packages offered by President Bush and Tom Daschle simply “don’t do enough” to revive an economy beset by layoffs and paltry corporate profits.

Michael Zey’s program for national recovery radically departs from accepted economic paradigms. Zey claims that his approach, which he developed over the last decade in his books The Future Factor and Seizing the Future, “will lead to a new era of cheap and abundant energy, high wages, and an improved environment.”

Specifically, Dr. Zey’s approach, built upon what he labels “Expansionary” principles, calls for the US to construct a nationwide high-speed rail network to move people and goods, develop an energy infrastructure that runs not on oil but fuel-cells and nuclear fusion, and link homes, schools, businesses, government with superfast broadband communications technology. Zey also calls for upgrading the educational system so that all citizens can become scientists and inventors. Moreover, he firmly believes that space and space technologies must play a role in the next economy.

While Dr. Zey envisions businesses and individuals as the major players in this new economy, he also believes that local and national government can serves as a catalyst of positive change. “The role of the government”, Zey says, “should be to present to the American people, and the world, this bold new vision so that we the people can take that vision and entrepreneurially rebuild the economy.“
