NEW YORK (Expansionary News Service) On Saturday, November 10, 2001 internationally-acclaimed futurist Dr. Michael G. Zey, author of “The Future Factor: The Five Forces Transforming Our Lives and Shaping Human Destiny”  (McGraw-Hill) will speak at the annual conference of the Institute of Behavioral and Applied Management held at the Radisson Hotel in Charleston, SC.
He will address the conference on the topic “Cybermentoring, Telementoring, and Beyond: The Emerging Role of Computer and Electronic Mediated Relationships in Business Formal Mentor Programs”. He will provide his audience with a look at how new cybertechnologies such as videoconferencing and virtual reality will transform the traditional mentor relationship in the 21st century organization. This talk, which will be published in the conference proceedings, combines Dr. Zey’s expertise in the areas of management and futurism.
     The last few weeks have been busy ones for this prodigious futurist. Dr. Michael Zey has been interviewed by several magazines and newspapers. Entrepreneur magazine interviewed him for an upcoming issue on his views on how to end the current recession. Newsweek interviewed him for an article on the impact of the growing use of English on the international economy and globalization. In addition, the Asbury Park Press interviewed him on the future of the transportation system in New Jersey.
     For the next several months Dr. Michael Zey will be delivering his optimistic message of growth and progress in a number of forums. He will be appearing on the new network Satellite XM’s USAToday/Newstalk station to discuss the passing of the “greatest generation” and the “real meaning” of the 2001 US Census In addition, Dr. Zey was recently interviewed on the impact of future technologies on the “corporate meeting room” for the October “Training” magazine. Many other appearances are scheduled.
Dr. Michael G. Zey, whom Booklist claims “could be the next Alvin Toffler”, consults to corporations and government agencies on future planning, speaks regularly about the future on the international lecture circuit, and has appeared on The Wall Street Journal Report, CNBC, CNN, and The Turning Point, and in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and La Monde. Michael Zey has authored numerous books including Seizing the Future and The Mentor Connection. He recently has appeared on CNNfn, the popular “Mike Murphy Show” on KCMO-AM, the nationally syndicated “Laura Lee Show”, and “The John Jackson Show” on WMAY, Chicago.
