THE
FUTURE FACTOR : VISIONS OF THE FUTURE
The
following photos and illustrations are graphic representations of the technologies
and events discussed in The
Future Factor: The Five Forces
Transforming Our Lives and Shaping Human Destiny by Dr. Michael G. Zey, the
executive director of The Expansionary Institute. This book, published
September 2000 by McGraw-Hill, describes an emerging world in which technological
and scientific advances will essentially change the way we live. Moreover, these
breakthroughs will accelerate the human species' achievement of its destiny.
We will be adding illustrations and photos on a regular basis, so check back
often. (Note: The page numbers next to each illustration indicate the pages on
which the particular technology or event is discussed in The
Future Factor.) |

SPECIES
COALESCENCE
In The
Future Factor, author Michael Zey identifies species coalescence as
a major force driving the human species toward its destiny. Several
technologies are accelerating the achievement of species coalescence. Picture
here are a European version of the high-speed train, which can travel at 300
mph and higher (pgs. 109-111), and the Skycar, invented by Paul Moller, which
rides like a car but can vertically lift-off from the ground and fly like a plane
(pgs. 112-3). While these modes of transportation may sound "futuristic", high-speed
rail is already used throughout the world (except in the US) and the Skycar is
fully operational and ready for commercial distribution. |
Advanced
communications technologies will also help humankind reach a higher level of
cohesiveness. Pictured here is a "virtual meeting" - two people in one physical
space meeting with a fellow employee physically thousands of miles away.Virtual
reality technology will enable people in different locales to experience each
other as though they are all physically present. That third employee you see
is experienced as an "avatar", pictured here standing between the two employees. |

DOMINIONIZATION
Dominionization
is another dynamic process driving humankind forward, helping our species achieve
its destiny. The term includes humanity's efforts to gain mastery over fundamental
forces of the universe, such as gravity, electromagnetism, and the atom.
In The
Future Factor Dr. Zey describes Project
HAARP, a government enterprise whose success depends on the eventual mastery
of electromagnetism. HAARP researchers hope to use their resulting knowledge
to create technologies that could alter weather patterns, impact human biological
functions, and disrupt targeted power grids and military defense systems (pg.
37-43).
The illustrations
below demonstrate how HAARP might be used as a military surveillance tool as
well. The accompanying photo shows the Alaska-based array of antennae that form
the physical basis of Project HAARP. |

  Dominionization
also includes humanity's attempts to reshape the topography of Earth itself (and
eventually that of other planets). On the drawing board are plans to construct
mile-high city/buildings, underground cities, and living areas beneath the sea.
Pictured here are the famous "mile-high" city developed by the Taisai corporation,
and an underseas hotel. |
